According to a McKinsey article, approximately 25% of companies do not grow at all, and between 2010 and 2019, only one in eight achieved more than 10% revenue growth annually. However, sustained, profitable growth is possible, and it boils down to the choices we make.
I recently initiated an innovation session with this quote to underscore that achieving growth is contingent upon the decisions we make. If your aim is to grow significantly, how will you act (start doing, stop doing)? Whom will you hire? What will you prioritize? Who are you when making the choice to grow?
“Making a choice that is 1 percent better or 1 percent worse seems insignificant in the moment, but over the span of moments that make up a lifetime these choices determine who you are and who you could be” –
Atomic Habits by James Clear.
This is why open dialogue with your teams is crucial as you seek to ascend to the next level. Every team member plays a role in the everyday choices we make that could help us growth.
